ATHLETICS

In our sports program, we offer athletic opportunities for students from Preschool through Secondary School. Our Athletics Department is committed to enhancing a student's life through positive experiences, connected to our school's Mission and Vision, striving to develop children’s physical, cognitive and social skills. Through sports, we promote healthy choices, enhance social interactions and forge leadership ability.

This includes a variety of team sports, competing in local and International Schools Sports Leagues, such as the ISSL and Friendship Festival. Through these opportunities, our students can find an environment where they can apply their personal talents and skills as our school continues to grow its athletic tradition.

Since the beginning of our collaboration, Under Armour has become a strategic ally in strengthening our sports program, helping us elevate sports as a powerful tool for the complete development of our students.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to preparing young athletes and citizens who face challenges with determination and a collective spirit.

LITTLE HUSKIES (P3 to G5)

The sports for our little Huskies are included in our After School Program. Students from P3 to G5 have the opportunity to practice a variety of sports, with the focus on providing the widest possible sports initiation and promoting interest in the practice of physical activities, in a healthy way and always focusing on fun and games.

Among the sports offerings are futsal, basketball, volleyball, gymnastics, karate, judo, skating, tennis and skateboarding.

From G1 to G5, students participate in festivals and friendly competitions involving other local schools, seeking to gradually develop a healthy sense of competition and being part of a team

THE HUSKY PRIDE (G6 to G12)

Our Secondary students embrace the sense of belonging and proudly represent our school in local and national competitions. As part of the AASB (Association of American Schools in Brazil), our high school students participate in the ISSL - International Schools Sports League, with 7 other American Schools from different parts of Brazil and our Middle School students participate in the Friendship Festival, tournament with 10 schools from Brazil and Paraguay. Our school also participates in local leagues and competitions in all sports.

Among the sports offerings for Secondary students are soccer, futsal, volleyball and basketball.
Our school teams practices are carried out at our school's main gym and we also have a partnership with PUCRS, to use their facilities for soccer and futsal practices.

PARTNERSHIP WITH GNU AND PUCRS

Our partnership with Grêmio Náutico União (GNU) aims to broaden the range of sports experiences on offer to our Secondary students from G6 through G12 in Physical Education classes.

The focus is on being able to offer different sports practices that, for logistical and infrastructure reasons, we would not be able to promote on our Obino campus. Through the partnership, we have been able to offer sports in our PE curriculum that very few schools offer in Rio Grande do Sul. Some examples: swimming, tennis, weight training, beach sports (beach tennis, beach volleyball, beach handball), ultimate frisbee, flag football, among others.
In the partnership with the club, students only use the facilities during lessons. What's more, all Pan American School staff members have the opportunity to enroll in sports activities at the club with a member's discount.

At the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul, we use the sports courts and turf pitches at the Parque Esportivo da PUCRS for training our Secondary soccer and futsal school teams.

The use of GNU and PUCRS facilities and equipment enhances the athletic development of our Huskies, especially in terms of technical and tactical preparation for the International Schools Sports League (ISSL), which has already helped us to earn gold and silver medals in soccer and futsal.

The partnerships with GNU and PUCRS also allow us to expand the After School Program, as it makes our gymnasium available for other activities involving the elementary students, such as: figure skating, volleyball, basketball, gymnastics, among others.
