On May 8, Pan American - The International School of Porto Alegre celebrated a milestone in its nearly 60-year history: the first High School Prom. The event brought together High School students and guests for an evening of music, celebration, and community.

The Gym on Obino Campus was fully transformed for the occasion, with decoration designed by Leila Pessine, event planning specialist. The evening featured a performance by the school band and a set by DJ Ariel B, one of the most recognized names in Brazil's new generation of funk. DJ Fred, a Pan American student, closed out the night.

Beyond celebrating a tradition rooted in American high school culture, the Prom also carried a social purpose: all ticket proceeds will be donated to the revitalization of the sports court at Escola Estadual Imperatriz Leopoldina, a local public school and long-standing partner in Pan American's community initiatives.

The event reflects Pan American's commitment to providing students with meaningful experiences that connect celebration, student life, and social responsibility. "The Prom was a night to remember, but what made it truly special was seeing our students come together to create something meaningful for themselves and for others. When celebration becomes an opportunity to support the community around us, students experience firsthand that when you feel you belong somewhere, you naturally want to help others feel the same," shares the Secondary School Assistant Principal, Mr. Renato Petry.
