International Day Brings the World to Pan American School
  • Pan American School

On March 21, Pan American - The International School of Porto Alegre opened its doors to a celebration of global perspectives. The International Day brought together more than 500 students, parents, alumni, and guests, transforming the school into a vibrant mosaic of cultures.

Cultural booths organized by families and students offered direct contact with the gastronomy and traditions of twelve nations: United Kingdom, United States, Canada, Israel, China, Japan, Portugal, Spain, Austria, Italy, Uruguay, and Brazil. Participants received passports to stamp at each booth, a playful way to experience all the countries in a single morning.

For the Superintendent, Ms. Shaysann Kaun, the International Day reflects the spirit of curiosity and connection that defines PAS's global perspective. As the only international school in Rio Grande do Sul, Pan American brings together more than twenty nationalities among students and teachers.

The event was made possible by over one hundred volunteers, reflecting the collaborative spirit at the heart of PAS. The celebration also welcomed distinguished guests, including the Consul of Italy in Porto Alegre, Mr. Valerio Caruso; the Honorary Consul of Switzerland, Mr. Mártin Haeberlin; the President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce of Rio Grande do Sul, Mr. Filippo Mariani; the President of Sinepe/RS, Mr. Oswaldo Dalpiaz; and the  Director of Investments and Export Services at InvestRS, Ms. Maria Paula Merlotti.

The International Day is a tradition among international curriculum schools, and at PAS it reflects the community's commitment to raising globally minded citizens who value connection and understanding across cultures.
