• PAS Porto Alegre (POA) is a private, international, coeducational, non-profit day school for children from ages 3 through 18. Both English and Portuguese are the languages of instruction.
  • English Language Acquisition and Portuguese Language Acquisition programs are available for students needing additional language support.
  • PAS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (AdvancedED) and the Brazilian Ministry of Education.
  • International recognition is provided through AdvancEd/SACS, which validates the US High School diploma, and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IB), which certifies our Primary and Middle Years Program (PYP & MYP).
  • International perspective at PAS brings the world to our students in Porto Alegre and our students to the world! 
  • Dual high school diplomas are earned by our students as they graduate with both the Brazilian and the US high school diplomas.
  • Advanced Placement courses certified by the College Board are offered to provide college level courses validated at hundreds of international universities.
  • National and international standardized assessments assure the quality of our programs. ("Avaliação Externa das Escolas Americanas no Brasil" [Portuguese Proficiency Test – Cespe UnB] and the North West Evaluation Association in the United States.

PAS has four divisions:

  • Preschool – from 3 years old to 6 years old:
    • P3 / P4 - 3 and 4 years old are half or full day : 8:15 am to 11:30 am or 8:15 am to 3:15 pm
    • K5 Kindergarten- 5 years old are full day: 8:15 am to 3:00 pm
  • Elementary School – Grades 1st - 5th - from 08:00 am to 3:15 pm
  • Middle School – Grades 6th – 8th - from 08:00 am to 3:15 pm
  • High School – Grades 9th – 12th - from 08:00 am to 3:15 pm

*Snack and lunch are included, as well as all school material.

PAS is a private, coeducational, not for profit day school committed to excellence in education and the personal growth of each student.We serve nearly 350 students from preschool through Grade 12, and offer a rigorous academic program through bilingual and bi-cultural instruction in English and Portuguese.
