The Pan American School of Porto Alegre is located in the Petrópolis area of the capital of Rio Grande do Sul . Porto Alegre is considered to have one of Brazil´s highest standards of living and a city with the most trees in Brazil.
Alongside the Guaíba Lake, in the southern most part of the country, more than one and a half million people live in the capital of “Gauchos”. Its privileged location has made it one of the main business centers of Mercosur. In 2001 it hosted the first edition of the World Social Forum. There is a wide range of options for leisure and cultural activities as well as several shopping malls and stores. On sunny Sundays, the people who live in the city can be found walking and drinking chimarrão in parks such as, Parque Marinha do Brasil, Parcão and Parque Farroupilha. There is book fair that happens every October, which is considered the largest outdoor book fair in America. |
