P.E. Rules and Procedures P3 – G4 2010/2011

Rules

 

1. To be prepared and properly dressed for class on time*

2. To participate effectively and actively in class

3. To be committed with the highest standards regarding the quality of the movement and the individual’s improvement possibility

4. To respect teachers and classmates always

5. To play safely

 

* What exactly does it mean?

A complete change of athletic clothes must be worn (t-shirt or sweatshirt, shorts or sweatpants, socks and tennis shoes);

Students will have 5 minutes both in the beginning and in the end of the class to change (when necessary);

No watches or jewelry should be worn during class time.

Girls should use their hair tied.

 

 

Procedures

  • Gym entrance:at the moment students get into the gym area, they will walk up to the blue area  and sit down (in their specific numbered spot or in a pattern like boy, girl, boy, girl when requested)
  • Water time:students will only drink water if they bring their own water bottle to the class and at the end of the class.
  • Bathroom:  students will have to get permission with the teacher or assistant to go to the bathroom (hand signal).

 

·         Miss a class:teacher will have to be communicated from the teacher’s classroom or from the assistant about the reason why the student cannot practice P.E. that specific day. Student can bring a doctor’s note too.

 

·         Gum, lollipops and other sweets:kids are not permitted to eat any kind of sweet during classes. C (consequence):In the case it happens, Teacher will ask the student to put the sweet in the trash can.

 

·         Exit classes:students will have to line up in order to live the P.E. classes in a safe and organized way. Running on the stairs will not be permitted. C: In the case it happens, students will return to the gym and restart the process.

 

·          School’s material:bad use of school’s material will not be tolerated by the teacher or assistant. C:Measures since a simple conversation with the student until a meeting with the teacher or coordinator will be possible. It will depend of the occasion. The Teacher will evaluate at first moment the case.

 

·         Fractures:students will not participate of P.E. classes unless they present to the teacher medical and/or parent authorization. Even then, his/her participation will depend of the activity planed by the Teacher. After taking of the cast, student will have to present a doctor’s note authorizing the practice of the P.E.

 

 

Other Consequences

 

Miss Behavior: 1. Time out (2 minutes thinking time), 2.  Five minutes working out separately, 3. Do the rest of the class separately and report the room teacher, 4. Do the rest of the class separately and contact the coordinator.

Practices:In the case of the student come wearing Flip flops, boots or crocks, Teacher will instruct the student to do other specific exercise apart from the group.
